Weather conditions were tough across the long weekend as local thermometers soared past 40 degrees, but that did not deter plenty of keen golfers from lining up at the ambrose events that were held in Wee Waa and Narrabri.
The Wee Waa Golf Club hosted a three-person ambrose on Sunday, which was only contested by three teams as the club continues to struggle with low numbers.
The winners of that event were the team of Greg and David Avery and Steve Phelps, and the runners-up were Ron Clutterbuck, David Russell and Robert Downey.
Narrabri Golf Club then hosted a two-person ambrose on Monday, which saw 66 players line up across 33 teams.
The winning team was decided by a countback as Dylan Craigie-Duke and Kobi Hall finished tied on 63.75 nett with Adam and Lucas Hatton. Craigie-Duke and Hall were announced as the winners on a countback, while third place with 64.25 nett went to Braithen Wightman and Kane Voysey.
The winners of the non-GA handicap prize were Michael Gard and Rhys Hayne with a score of 67.75 nett.
There were also four nearest to pin prizes on offer, which were won by Tom Holland (fifth), Keith Greenaway (eighth), Ty Baker (12th) and Dylan Craigie-Duke (16th).
