THE most recent PFAS testing on the Narrabri town water supply has returned results again below national drinking water guidelines.
Testing conducted on 12 June shows PFHxS levels at 4ng/l, below the recommended 30ng/l.
PFOS levels were at 7ng/l, just below the recommended 8ng/l.
PFOA and PFOB were not detected in the latest test.
In an update, Narrabri Shire Council said the results mean the town water supply continues to be safe for consumption.
The Tibbereena Street bore continues to supplement water supplied from the Elizabeth Street bore.
The latest testing of the Elizabeth Street bore showed no detection of PFHxS, PFOA or PFBS, with PFOS at 1ng/l. The Tibbereena Street bore was at 1ng/l for PFHxS and 3ng/l for PFOS (PFBS and PFOA were not detected).
The Killarney bore remains switched off with testing continuing to show the bore above current guidelines.
Results from 12 June saw the bore at 30ng/l for PFHxS; 30ng/l for PFOS; PFBS at 6ng/l and PFOA at 2ng/l.
In its update, the council said its application is under assessment by the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water to add the Saleyards Lane bore to the Narrabri town water supply Water Access Licence.
Tender documents for the PFAS treatment plant for pre-selected tenderers have also been issued.
