The fittings, doors, windows, furniture and even the fireplaces which have occupied St Francis Xavier’s Presbytery for more than 100 years are headed for new homes.

The presbytery building is destined for demolition, but first the community is invited to make an offer for items in the building ranging from the modern – recently installed split system air conditioners – to the classically old, notably the elegant, solid marble fireplace surrounds.

“We are selling off whatever people want to buy,” said St Francis Xavier’s Finance Committee member Paul Welchman who has been tasked with organising the sale by tender.

‘Everything can go” said Paul.

Paul Welchman will be waiting at the front door of the St Francis Xavier’s presbytery at 9am on Saturday morning to greet interested buyers of more than 100 years of memorabilia, new, old, valuable and more commonplace, from the old building.
