Narrabri Farm Centre will celebrate its 31st year in business in October.

Warren Michell took over the Farm Centre 18 months after it was founded in October, 1998.

Mr Michell, who now owns the centre with his wife Chris, was the original store manager before a company from Tamworth presented him with the opportunity to make the Farm Centre his own.

“The original company decided to have a change of direction,” said Mr Michell.

“I was the store manager at the time and they offered me to take it over.

“The chance came up and I was already managing and I was sure I could take it to the next level.”

Mr Michell said the family owned business has gone through its highs and lows but he ‘would not change a thing.’

“I love working here and I’ve done it for 31 years,” he said.

“We have had plenty of challenges over the years.

“But it’s just so incredibly rewarding.”

Mr Michell told The Courier that there are two keys to running a long and sustainable business.

“The two most important ingredients are customers and staff,” he said.

“We’ve been lucky that we’ve had a good loyal customer base.

“And I have had a good run with staff.”

Mr Michell said that Narrabri Farm Centre has an incredible range of products.

“Our product range is a little bit unique for Narrabri, and what we specialise in.

“We specialise in stock and produce,” he said.

“We cater for town and rural customers and for businesses big and small.

Mr Michell said he loves Narrabri for many reasons.

“We don’t seem to have the boom and busts that other towns do,” he said.

“It’s a very diverse town and with its different forms of agriculture between cropping and livestock.”

The Narrabri Farm Centre has a comprehensive range of products and customers can shop in comfort with a handy drive through.
