Last year a group of then Year 8 students from Narrabri High School decided to take their love of music a step further and form a band named ‘Snakes and Ladders’.

They worked hard during recess and lunch times to gather some songs and get their performance up to scratch.

Continuing with Narrabri High School’s tradition of music, the group of staff and students formed ‘Covid Rock’ during the Corona lockdown.

The quickly-formed ‘Covid Rock’ featured a number of posts on the Narrabri High School Facebook and Instagram sites.

On Saturday, June 13, these two groups joined forces and entertained shoppers in Maitland Street.

With the kind assistance of Watson’s Kitchen, who donated their verandah for the performance, ‘Covid Rock’ and ‘Snakes and Ladders’ played for two hours and serenaded Narrabri.

Students involved were Pippa Smith, Eliza Dampney, Larnie Durkin, Gypsie Knibbs, Lauren Brown and Jye Cuell, teachers Jackson Walsh, Steve McCauley and Rod Ritchie as well as Natasha Knibbs and some very kind parents.

If you missed out, never fear, ‘Snakes and Ladders’ and ‘Covid Rock’ will again be rocking the verandah in a few weeks’ time.
