The 2020 Killarney Bike Classic is the latest casualty from the COVID-19 pandemic, but organisers are determined to see the event return in 2021.

It will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2021.

Hundreds of people participate in the iconic bike ride and fun run which raises much-needed funds for local cancer support groups.

Earlier this year, a new committee was formed at the group’s annual general meeting.

Josh Campbell was elected as president with Denis Harvey serving as vice president.

Other committee members include Natalie Gourley (secretary), Tracey McMullin (treasurer), Annie Lampe (assistant treasurer), George Gouley (publicity), Caro Slattery (sponsorship), Ros Williams (venue coordinator) and general committee members Pam Waters, James Pitman, Damon Marshall, Sue Marshall and Guy Roth.

The committee made Annie Lampe a patron of the Killarney Bike Classic, honouring her ongoing contribution to the event.

The 2019 classic event raised $12,000 which was donated to local cancer charity groups, Can Assist (Narrabri), Cancer Council to aid research into cancer and its treatment, Inala House, Namoi Transport to Treatment Service, Boggabri and Wee Waa Palliative Care and Ronald McDonald House Tamworth.
