The pet competition will feature at this weekend’s Narrabri Show.
The event is set to kick off at 4pm on Friday, with local pets competing in 17 different categories.
Categories include largest pet, smallest pet (no insects), best bird/fowl, best guinea pig/rabbit, best cat, best kitten, best large dog, best small dog, best short-haired dog, best long-haired dog, best puppy (under six months old), most unusual pet (no insects), cutest pet, best decorated pet and child, pet who looks most like their owner and – the show’s newest category – most obedient pet.
Ribbons and prizes will be available for placegetters, thanks to sponsors Shop2390 and Geni Energy.
All prize winners will be eligible to enter the grand champion section, with the winner of this category taking home a trophy, ribbon and prizes.
Head steward, Lindy Michell, says she’s excited for another great competition.
“People come to the show on Friday especially for the pet show, and it’s just the best fun to watch and be a part of,” she said.
Entry is free and the event will be held in the cattle arena (E11).
