Narrabri’s Meals on Wheels’ fundraiser event on Friday, May 7 saw a stellar turnout with The Crossing Theatre’s Cinema 1 packed with moviegoers.

The special screening of the entertaining and heart-warming film June Again was a popular choice by event organiser Joan Griffiths and Narrabri Meals on Wheels coordinator, Donna MacMillan.

Guests enjoyed canapés and drinks preceding the movie in the Riverside Room.

“The money raised from a very generous crowd at our movie night will be used for running costs on the Meals on Wheels vehicle,” event organiser Joan Griffiths said.

“The current vehicle used by Meals and Wheels is getting old and maintenance costs are rising.

“The MoW committee is looking to replace it and are seeking a sponsor for a new vehicle,” she said.

“MoW is such an important service for the elderly and disabled in our local community”.
