Narrabri Shire Council has agreed to the donation of annual rates back to not-for-profit community organisations across the shire.

Rates donations, totalling $37,686.82, were endorsed by councillors.

Each year the council calls for applications from local groups seeking rate relief.

This year 22 organisations sought donations.

Successful applicants approved by the council were Bellata War Memorial Hall, $558, Narrabri Rifle Club, $774.41, WAY Church Community Organisation, $1310, Narrabri Art and Craft Society, $3116.59, CWA Wee Waa branch, $2495.29, First Narrabri West Scouts, $2881.68, Baan Baa Tennis Club, $1,104.98, Pilliga Community Centre, $1009, Galloping Gully Polocrosse Club, $471.05, Narrabri Men’s Shed, $1466.88, Boggabri District Historical Society, $1979.54, Narrabri Pre School Association, $3048.57, Narrabri District Citizens Boys Club, $2296.90, Boggabri Home and Community Care, $2052.13, Boggabri Home for the Aged, $2705.44, Abbeyfield, $1650.20, Namoi Aero Club, $377.51, Narrabri Pistol Club, $1368.88, Narrabri Clay Target Club, $1858.35, Life Without Barriers, $2678.65, Wee Waa Gym, $1923.78 and Baan Baa Community Hall, $558.00.
