Thirty-one days, and nine exhibitions is the theme of Murra Month, a Murrurundi online art exhibition roster which runs from October 1.

From October 12, Narrabri artist Brooke Dalton will be featured on the website.

Brooke’s distinctive style of painting has wowed audiences across Australia as well as internationally.

Brooke has been painting for many years, during that time taking part in an occasional art class, but only became serious about painting in 2015, with her first group exhibition held at Narrabri’s Art and Craft Society exhibition at the end of 2016.

Using acrylics with lots of colour and layers, Brooke specialises in still life, interiors and recently has been branching out into garden scapes.

The first solo show with Michael Reid Murrurundi took place in July 2018 and Brooke has continued to have bi-annual solo shows exhibited there ever since.

A highlight of Brooke’s art career was the staging of a solo exhibition at the New England Regional Art Museum, Armidale last year.

The original intention for 2021 was an exhibition to be held at the Sydney Contemporary.

COVID restrictions have shelved that plan for now, with anticipation that this will now take place next year instead.

Brooke’s submission artworks for Murra Month can be viewed online from October 12.
