Since the Monterey Café began their bra decorating contest last month, dozens of locals have submitted entries.
The competition, which asks participants to jazz up the undergarment as part of fundraising efforts to support breast cancer patients, is part of the ongoing Pink Up Namoi campaign.
Entrants have gotten creative with their pieces, utilising a variety of mixed materials including fabric, feathers, flowers, sparkles, buttons and even mosaic.
The contest is open to anyone and everyone – no matter their age or location – with funds raised going to the McGrath Foundation.
Participants choose the entry fee amount they’d like to donate, and locals can pick their favourite for just $1 per vote.
Monterey Café’s Jenny Wilson says she’s continuing to welcome votes and entries until Wednesday, October 20, but is already overjoyed with the local support.
“The response so far has been amazing,” she said.
“In only a few weeks, we’ve had almost 40 entries and lots of votes.”
Interested locals are encouraged to browse the selection of creative decorations and vote for their favourite.
There will be two winners selected from the submissions, one people’s choice and one selected by a Pink Up judging panel.
The people’s choice winner will be whoever receives the most votes before Wednesday.
The winners of both categories will be announced at the Pink Street Dinner Party on Saturday, which is now completely sold out.
Raffle tickets are also available at the Monterey Cafe, as part of the Pink Up fundraising efforts.
