This month The Crossing Theatre’s dining establishment, Crossing Café, announced its move to become pet friendly.

Patrons are now able to enjoy outdoor dining with their pets on the back verandah of the building, overlooking the Narrabri Creek.

The Crossing Theatre made the decision to give customers a chance to bring their four-legged friends along when they go out for a coffee or meal.

Director corporate and community services, Lindsay Mason, said pets are a significant aspect of many local households and the news would benefit the community.

“This new initiative allows patrons to be able to socialise with their pets in a friendly, relaxed setting,” he said.

One of the first local people to take advantage of the announcement was Jane Phillips and her puppy Caramel.

The cavoodle and her mum enjoyed a coffee out in the sun last week.

“I was very excited because I have a very social little pup and it was a great opportunity to take her somewhere new,” Ms Phillips said.

“We had a great time, Caramel enjoyed drinking from the water bowl and my cake and cappuccino were delicious.

“We cannot wait to go back.”

The pair received two movie vouchers for The Crossing Theatre, as a thank you for being the first pet to visit the café.

Pet-friendly dining will be offered on the back verandah of The Crossing Theatre, from 9am to 3pm every weekday.

Conditions apply, with the rear entrance only to be used for this purpose and dogs to remain leashed at all times.
