The Northern Inland Credit Union held a morning tea on Friday, October 22 for staff member Colleen Taylor who was celebrating her retirement.

Along with the Narrabri office staff, NICU chief executive officer Derek McIntyre and deputy chief executive officer Kathy Beavan attended from NICU Tamworth branch.

Colleen has worked for the Northern Inland Credit Union for 23 years.

Starting on February 24, 1998, the staff recall that from the first day Col was a great one for telling a good joke or a story.

They had asked Colleen to send an email off on Fridays to the Credit Union in Narrabri, Tamworth and Gunnedah with a joke, a verse or a story to provide them with a good laugh for the end of each week.

Over the past 23 years, Colleen has worked as a cashier, before moving to the lending department and later she has worked during the last few years in the contact centre department.

Colleen was a latterly valued staff member, helping all NICU members with any problems that they may have come across with numerous matters including accounts and online banking.

Colleen was held in high regard which was evident as the NICU Narrabri branch would receive several emails and telephone calls over the years praising Colleen as a pleasure to work with.

“Colleen would go above and beyond to help anyone she could within the credit union and in the local community – and it was just her way – she is a very kind and loving person,” branch manager Josephine Morley said.

“She will be missed by all the staff and members of the credit union”.

Colleen and her husband John, are hoping to embark on some travelling around Australia and just enjoy life.
