While breast cancer awareness month may have passed, locals are far from done with their Pink Up efforts.

The next fundraiser supporting the McGrath Foundation will be going ahead on the morning of Sunday, November 28.

The Breast Ever Breakfast committee invites people from across the Narrabri Shire to share a three-course gourmet meal over champagne.

As well as a delicious breakfast, attendees will have the chance to support a charity auction and raffle.

Minister for Mental Health, Regional Youth and Women and former McGrath Foundation breast care nurse, Bronnie Taylor MLC, will also be joining the festivities as the event’s guest speaker.

She’ll be sharing her insights, as well as a word of warning to all genders – not just women – when it comes to breast cancer.

Pink Up Namoi volunteer, Jocellin Jansson, says she’s excited to hear from someone who’s worked for the McGrath Foundation and has firsthand experience caring for many people with breast cancer.

“Not only is Bronnie the Minister for Women, but she’s been a breast care nurse herself before getting into politics,” Ms Jansson explained.

“And she’s a really engaging speaker who’s well-informed on the subject.

“So, she’s just the perfect special guest for our breakfast.”

Organised by a committee of local Rotarians and members of the Pink Up Namoi volunteer committee, the fundraiser will kick off at 9.30am.

Ms Jansson says the event will run for two hours, filling attendees’ morning with plenty of laughs.

“It’s set to be a great occasion, with terrific food and vibrant company,” she said.

“Unlike the Pink Street Dinner Party, this event will not be booked in tables of ten – so you’re welcome to reserve as many or as few tickets as you’d like.”

However, seating is limited to 110 guests, so get in early to avoid disappointment.

Tickets for the event are $60 per person, which includes a three-course breakfast from the Tourist Hotel, a range of pastries from Watson’s Kitchen and a glass of pink bubbly on arrival, also courtesy of the Tourist Hotel.

“KR Property is sponsoring the event, and we’ve also had plenty of other great local support too,” Ms Jansson said.

“Which means our auction has some wonderful prizes on offer, including a seven-night holiday in Shoal Bay, some beautiful, handcrafted sculptures and $3500 worth of service from a range of local tradespeople.

“And there’s a special surprise in our auction too, so be sure to secure your ticket and see the big reveal for yourself!”

Tickets can be purchased here.

The dress code is ‘a touch of pink’ and guests are asked to arrive with the party they wish to be seated with.
