Narrabri Shire Council will celebrate Local Government Week this week with a meet and greet and display at tomorrow’s markets.

Mayor Ron Campbell said Local Government Week showcases the contribution made by councils in their communities.

“Council provides a wide variety of facilities and services to Narrabri Shire,” Cr Campbell said.

“Local Government Week provides an opportunity to celebrate that contribution and meet with some of the residents.”

During Local Government Week, representatives of Narrabri Shire staff, councillors and Youth Council members will attend the Narrabri Rotary Markets on Saturday, August 6.

“They will be available to meet and greet locals and answer any questions,” Cr Campbell said.

“The first 75 people to visit council’s stand will receive a free goodie bag along with a ticket for the Narrabri Lions Club barbecue, which entitles them to a sausage sandwich and a bottle of water or soft drink before 11.30am.”

The Narrabri Rotary Markets will be held in Selina Street from 8am to 1.30pm.
