Two sides remain undefeated following a month of touch footy action at Cooma Oval

Three teams entered round four of Narrabri Touch’s 2024 season mixed competition on Monday boasting a perfect record but only two finished the night undefeated after Banskia Babes and Blokes suffered their first loss of the year at Cooma Oval.

Ladder leaders Just Gammin and the second-placed side Hammertime have both accumulated a maximum 12 points so far this year, having won all four of their games.

Just Gammin took on Tradies and Ladies on Monday evening and they scored a dominant 12-6 victory after Hammertime had beaten the Wilga Pelicans 8-5. Those results saw Just Gammin finish the night on top of the ladder with a for and against difference of 22 compared to Hammertime’s 13. Both of those teams climbed above the Banksia Babes and Blokes after the former ladder leaders suffered their first loss of the campaign to slip to fourth.

Win Or Booze entered the evening in fourth place and managed to climb into third after it was them who defeated the Banksia Babes and Blokes 7-3. They are now both on 10 points following three wins and a loss each, as are fifth-placed side Sprayerbarn Spinouts following their 5-2 win over One Hit Wonders in round four.

JWG Hounddogs were also winners on Monday evening as they trampled Kerrigans 7-1. That victory was their second of the season and it saw them rise up the ladder into seventh. They finished the night locked on eight points alongside the Wilga Pelicans.

Touch ‘n’ Go were the other round four winners as they scored their first victory of the campaign when they downed RSL Guys and Gals 10-5. That result saw Touch ‘n’ Go finish the night in 10th place on the ladder as they joined eight-placed Tradies and Ladies and ninth-placed One Hit Wonders on eight points.

Kerrigans and the RSL Guys and Gals are yet to win a game so far this season and they occupy the 11th and 12th spots on the ladder.

Fixtures and referee appointments for round five on Monday, March 11, are as follows:

6pm:
Field one – Just Gammin v JWG Hounddogs referees – (Louise Tout and Jydon Hill); field two – Banksia Babes & Blokes v Touch ‘n’ Go (referees – Brett Allison and Connor Parkes); field three – Win or Booze v Tradies & Ladies (referees – Patrick Mowle and Lidia McCauley).

6.35pm:
Field one – Sprayerbarn Spinouts v Wilga Pelicans (referees – Clifford Toomey Jnr and Bernard Gabbott); field two – Kerrigans v One Hit Wonders (referees – Abby McClure and Sam Carberry); field three – RSL Guys & Gals v Hammertime (Caleb McDonald and Gerri Cruckshank).

In other touch footy news, the 2024 Nationals Touch League will be held at Coffs Harbour this Friday through to Sunday. Narrabri’s Kristie Toomey will play for Northern Eagles in the women’s 40s division.
