Narrabri Touch’s 2024 season mixed competition farewelled the Cooma Oval fields on Monday evening when the 12 teams lined up for their round seven matches.

There will be no touch footy played this Monday due to the Easter long weekend public holiday, and the round eight games the following week on Monday, April 8, will be played under lights at Hogan Oval and Leitch Oval after daylight saving ends a day earlier. The remainder of the campaign will be played at those venues.

There were 79 tries scored across the six games in round seven, which was just five less than the benchmark total of 84 that the 12 teams combined for a week earlier.

Just Gammin and Hammertime are still undefeated following their round seven victories as they both go into the long weekend break a maximum 21 competition points. Just Gammin outscored the Wilga Pelicans 12-6 and Hammertime beat Touch ‘n’ Go 13-2, which saw Just Gammin remain on top of the ladder on for and against difference. Theirs is 46 and Hammertime’s is 42 as they sit in second spot.

In third place, just one win behind them, are the Sprayerbarn Spinouts following their 6-3 victory over Banksia Babes and Blokes on Monday. The Spinouts moved to 19 competition points after securing their sixth win of the campaign, and they maintained the benchmark defensive record in the competition as they ended the round having conceded 22 tries from seven games, which is seven less than the top-ranked duo who have both conceded 29.

Win Or Booze dropped from fourth to fifth after they were beaten 7-4 by the JWG Hounddogs, while Tradies and Ladies rose from sixth into fourth after winning 9-3 against One Hit Wonders.

The other round seven contest saw Kerrigans score their first victory of the year when they beat RSL Guys and Gals 10-4 in a bottom-of-the-table clash. That result saw Kerrigans climb from 11th place into 10th.

The ladder standings and the teams’ points totals after seven rounds are as follows:

Just Gammin (21), Hammertime (21), Sprayerbarn Spinouts (19), Tradies and Ladies (15), Win Or Booze (15), Banksia Babes and Blokes (15), Wilga Pelicans (13), JWG Hounddogs (13), One Hit Wonders (11), Kerrigans (9), Touch ‘n’ Go (9), RSL Guys and Gals (7).
