Narrabri and District Chamber of Commerce has praised the Narrabri community’s support of Pink Up festivities.

Events have been held across the shire for Pink Up Namoi, a McGrath Foundation fundraiser that aims to support local breast cancer specialist nurses.

Speaking at Tuesday’s chamber meeting, the group’s first in-person gathering held post-lockdown, president Russell Stewart praised the unwavering support Pink Up had received.

“What this town has done has been fantastic,” he told the meeting.

Mr Stewart provided chamber members with an update on the various functions planned for the fundraiser.

Earlier this year, Mr Stewart invited Pink Up Namoi organiser Karen Kirkby to a chamber meeting to discuss her initial plans. Mr Stewart and his wife Louise have been strong supporters of Ms Kirkby’s plans from Pink Up Namoi’s early stages.

Across the shire, the plans have been met with enormous enthusiasm.

A Pink Street Dinner to be held in Maitland Street on Saturday, October 23, has almost reached capacity.

Earlier this week, Ms Kirkby told The Courier the local response had been incredible.

“But if you’re still interested in attending, don’t hesitate to reach out and I can place you on our waiting list,” she said.

Ms Kirkby can be contacted on 0428 949 500.
