More 2025/26 season champions were crowned at Narrabri Bowling Club on Saturday as Kevin Baguley and Larry Scott prevailed in the men’s pairs competition final.
The two brothers-in-law defeated Dave Dewar and Tony Redman 21 shots to 13 after 18 ends of play, which saw them defend their title after winning the 2024/25 decider back in April.
The champions got off on the front foot with a three on the first end before they charged away to lead from start to finish.
They were ahead seven shots to nothing after three ends before Redman and Dewar got on the board with one shot on the fourth end.
Baguley and Scott then took out three of the next four ends to lead 11 shots to two after eight ends, but Redman and Dewar then won three of the following four ends a combined eight shots to two to reduce their deficit to three.
It was 13 shots to 10 at that stage after 12 ends of play before Baguley and Scott claimed the next four ends to make it 19-10.
Redman and Dewar fired back with three shots on the 17th end, but the champions then sealed their victory with two shots on the 18th end to prevail 21 shots to 13.
