A ROUSING victory has marked the professional debut for Narrabri boxer Brendan Davey. Brendan was part of the recent Rise Future Stars II pro-am fight night held in Tamworth. The return to the ring has been a long time coming for Brendan, who has held a deep passion for the sport since his younger days alongside his brother Shannon Davey. WWHS Crowned Regional Netball Champions

WEE WAA High School students have been in top form on the netball court. The WWHS girls’ netball team recently defeated Oxley High School in the Regional Final at the Tamworth Sports Dome to claim the Regional Championship title. The team came out strong from the opening whistle and maintained their intensity throughout the match, building on their lead to secure a well-deserved victory. Kinstler wins Wednesday stableford on a countback

IT was another busy week of competition at the Narrabri Golfie, with good fields taking part in stableford events across the previous week. Neil Kinstler won Wednesday’s 9-hole Stableford Medley, held on 8 July, with 17 points on a countback from Sally Boyle, who also finished on 17 points. In the Ladies 18-hole Stableford, Ingrid Moulds claimed the win with 37 points on a countback from Robin Ford, who also scored 37 points. Cindy Neil claims consistency singles title

CINDY Neil has been crowned the 2025–26 consistency singles champion after a hard-fought victory over Helen Woodward in a gripping final. Giving Woodward a six-point start, Neil steadily worked her way back into the contest, drawing level at 27-all by the eighth end. The match remained close throughout, with neither player able to establish a decisive advantage. The turning point came on the 17th end when Woodward sent a bowl out of bounds, conceding four shots to leave Neil ahead 85-75.
