A Narrabri audience, and Narrabri school music workshop students, heard more of the versatility of the saxophone when the Nexas Saxophone Quartet came to town on the Friday of the long weekend.

The saxophonists spent the day hosting music workshops and finished off with a performance in The Crossing Theatre’s Riverside Room.

The Quartet audience and students enjoyed the music of one of Australia’s leading saxophone ensembles, who are described as ‘dedicated to putting the classical saxophone on musical radars everywhere.’

And Quartet members Michael Duke, soprano saxophone, Andrew Smith, alto saxophone, Nathan Henshaw, tenor saxophone, and Jay Byrnes, baritone saxophone enjoyed their North Western tour which saw them also perform at the Kurrumbede open day on Saturday of the Queen’s Birthday weekend and that night in Gunnedah.
