The Rotary Pride of Workmanship Awards, which were set to take place last Saturday, have been postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions.

While the judging has been done, and the finalists determined, the official announcement dinner won’t take place until Thursday, September 16.

This award goes beyond the everyday operations of a business and extends into the surrounding community, recognising local people who surpass expectations at work.

This year saw a total of eight nominees, all local to Narrabri, from a variety of different backgrounds.

They range in age from 24-years-old to 45-years-old and represent a number of industries including retail, research, IT, education, media, admin, hospitality and engineering.

The three finalists will be notified of their success in being short-listed, and will be invited to a special dinner where the winner will be announced.

The finalists can invite partners, friends and family to accompany them to the event.

Local Rotarians and their partners will also be invited.

Hosted at the Narrabri RSL, the Pride of Workmanship Awards will feature special guests David and Heather Mayne.

Mr Mayne, Rotary’s district governor, will be accompanied by his wife Heather on a visit to Narrabri for the occasion.

The Courier will annouce the winner of the 2021 Rotary Pride of Workmanship Award, after the event, in a September edition.
