Wee Waa golfers returned to the course on Sunday when the club hosted the second round of its 2021 Club Championships event.
The second round was scheduled to be played on August 15, but was postponed after stay at home orders were introduced for all of regional NSW.
Those rules were still in place on Sunday, however, with golf getting the green light to go ahead during the lockdown, Wee Waa Golf Club opted to resume its championships.
Players were required to adhere to strict COVID-19 rules and regulations which club president David Russell was pleased to say they all did.
Sunday’s individual stroke winner was Jono Baird who finished with a score of 66 nett.
Runner-up with 67 nett was Sandy Stump who won the day’s play in the first round back on Sunday, August 8.
Pro pin winner was David Avery, who is also the A-grade leader in championship after 54 holes of play.
B-grade leaders are Bill Lang and Will Baker, while the C-grade leader is Stump.
The final 18 holes of the club championships will be played this Sunday at the Wee Waa Golf Club.
